Wine shall be offered with the evening meal and other beverages are available, but if you wish to partake in additional spirits after a day of riding, please feel free to bring the beverage of your choice!

On the final day of the clinic, breakfast and a luncheon only will be available.

Hors d’oeuvre shall be provided at the orientation meeting the evening prior to the start of the clinic. You may wish to pop into Monument to eat at our local café if you require something more substantial before the meeting.

After a day of instruction...

Relax and feel pampered as you enjoy a delicious gourmet meal. Later, relax on the deck of the bunk house, join in a lively discussion of horsemanship or head down to the river for an evening swim.

The stables are close by so you can easily feed your horse breakfast and dinner, check on him in the evening or tuck him in before going to bed.

Our goal is to make your visit with us a memorable one! Our hope is that you leave our ranch having gained a new awareness of your horse and your own riding abilities.
Apart from the beautiful countryside in which to ride, a short drive brings you to the Kimberly Fruit Company at Thomas Orchards, a family-owned orchard in Kimberly which features U-Pick and organic fruit in season. The John Day River is noted for its fine fishing and rafting.

What to Bring…

For all clinics, please bring your regular tack and equipment used when riding/schooling plus all horse care needs such as hay, grain feed, protective boots, manure fork, etc.

It is recommended that footwear be of the suitable type for riding such as paddock boots, riding boots or any boot with a good heel. When riding, a protective helmet shall be mandatory. All horse activities contain a certain amount of risk and safety is our number one goal!

We suggest you bring a variety of clothing — dressing in “layers” is often a good idea during spring and autumn clinics with shorts and T-shirts on tap for summer. Don’t forget to bring a sweatshirt too! Evening dining is a casual affair.

For those who have never ventured to the Eastern side of Oregon, our weather during most of the year is usually sunny. Spring and autumn temperatures can vary from very warm to pleasantly cool “sweatshirt” weather with the odd afternoon storm passing though. Summer daytime temperatures will get pretty warm but the evenings tend to cool off nicely and are very pleasant.
