Well, another year is drawing to a close and once again we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made the journey, from near and far, to join us in our equine activities in 2007! We had a variety of clinics this year ranging from our Jump into Dressage Clinic, Eventing for Adults, an Adult and Youth Camp and some privately schedules clinic which included the fine folks who travelled down from Alaska to join us at THEC in June!
Speaking of the folks from Alaska, they once again invited me up North to teach this past year and I am delighted to say I shall be heading there again in 2008! What a grand bunch they are and talk about dedicated to their horses!!!!
Some new faces visited THEC this year and many old friends returned to ride… sometimes more than once during the season! Our clinic spots filled rapidly this year… most clinics being booked to capacity by the end of March! Also, the number of participants who wanted to know the 2008 clinic dates as soon as possible… even before they left for home… have made us decide to hold our clinics more or less during the same time frames each year. This will allow those of you who like to plan your equine holidays well in advance the opportunity to mark your calendars early.
In looking at our 2008 schedule, please note that with the exception of our Adult and Youth camp in June and the USPC D-Camp in July, all camps are designed specifically for the adult rider. I would like to point out that although most of our clinics are termed "Eventing", you are under no obligation at all to jump… although most people cannot help themselves! We try to keep our clinics oriented in such a way so as to allow friends or partners who may ride at different levels, the opportunity to participate in the same clinic environment together. This is why we limit the number of participants per clinic to 8 in order that each person gets plenty of individual attention!
Now that Darrell is well recovered from his heart surgery of last year, we have some great plans in store for the XC course. If the weather cooperates this winter and spring, we should have our water jump and bank jump well on the way to completion in time for the 2008 clinics. We will be adding some new jumps for the enjoyment of those of you who love being out on the XC course.
Our commitment to you is as always: come and have a relaxing time with your horse, learn new skills, meet new friends, all in a very non-competitive environment. Whether you are a Dressage rider working on Third Level manoeuvres, someone wanting to experience the thrill of Eventing for the first time or maybe just wanting to work towards a better relationship with your horse, we want to help you realise your goals. There are many, many wonderful clinicians out there who specialise in helping you and your horse climb the competitive horse show ladder, I can certainly help you towards that as well… but I strongly feel the need to be here for those of you wanting to learn yet also have FUN with your horse! Our goal, as always, is to provide you and your equine partner with a unique experience.
If you have any questions at all, or would like to hear from folks who have attended clinics in the past, please contact us and we will be happy to chat with you! All the very best for the New Year… happy riding… both Darrell and I look forward to seeing you in 2008! |
